Hi,

The following vulnerabilities were published for bouncycastle.

CVE-2024-29857[0], CVE-2024-30171[1] and CVE-2024-30172[2].

CVE-2024-34447[3]:
| An issue was discovered in Bouncy Castle Java Cryptography APIs
| before BC 1.78. When endpoint identification is enabled in the
| BCJSSE and an SSL socket is created without an explicit hostname (as
| happens with HttpsURLConnection), hostname verification could be
| performed against a DNS-resolved IP address in some situations,
| opening up a possibility of DNS poisoning.

Some are somehow vague in the references and [4] say they were fixed
in the latest release, at time of writing 1.78.1.

If you fix the vulnerabilities please also make sure to include the
CVE (Common Vulnerabilities & Exposures) ids in your changelog entry.
